new browswer by google "chrome"

http://www.google.com/chrome/?utm_campaign=en&utm_source=en-blog-ogb&utm_medium=blog&brand=CHMP

googs have decided to challenge MS in the browser market too now, with chrome. I thought that was what firefox was for, but hey. avail only for windose systems is the funniest part.

It is a novelty, a gimmick...pretty damn quick I'll give it that, not a piece o crap like Apple's Safari.

Google already dominates the web, and it is creepy to me that they are still trying to get into everyone's desktop. Their marketing whores must be drooling over the data they collect on Chrome browsing habits...using it for even more targeted ads

Hiya SavageGoose,

Chrome is nothin but gimmick...sure Google donate to the opensource effort, but now they are just scoopin this all up as-if they made it themselves. at least they've done a better job than Apple with Safari...and Google did make the new JavaScript from scratch themselves.

many of the ideas implemented in Chrome have been lifted from other browsers such as Opera & Firefox...and I'll just stick to them since they have been the real innovators over the years...and they don't giveya a damn GoogleUpdate.exe process lurking in the background on your computer

Google smacks of Darkside of the Force in my opinion

yeah heard a radio show about google and chrome. says they want to introduce distributed computing , and have set up and are setting up massive server farms for all the data they will be generating.

I recall when micro$oft wanted to set up distributed computing how everyone was dead set against it. I didnt realise google had the same goals as microsoft.

anyhow i killed the browser back to firefox.

hiya, yup it is just a novelty browser...I'm guessin maybe in a few years they'll have a loyal user-base...it took a long time for Firefox to catch on.

it sounds like Google wants to weasel their way out of payin taxes, by havin offshore data-centers...well hey! likewise I'd like to get out of payin taxes to support socialism here in California ha!

cya,
